# Make a group

One link, one channel, up to 25 people.

Share one [invite link](https://getcopy.app/help/invite-a-friend) in a group chat. Everyone who joins lands on the same channel.

## Start a group

1. Turn the dial to an empty channel and tap it.
2. Choose **A group**.
3. Drop the link in your group chat.

A channel with three or more people is a group. It holds up to 25.

## Add people to a channel you already have

Long-press the channel and choose **Add friends to channel**, then share the link. When a third person joins a one-to-one channel, it becomes a group.

## Rename, mute, or see who’s in it

Long-press a group’s channel to **Rename** it, **Mute** it, or see its **Members**.

## Leaving a group

Choose **Leave channel**, then tap again to confirm. Everyone else gets a note that you left. The group’s key changes, so old invite links stop working.

If a group drops to two people, it becomes a one-to-one channel again.
