# Your recovery key

24 words that bring your COPY back. Save them somewhere safe.

Your recovery key is 24 words that bring back your friends, groups, and free devices if you lose your phone.

## Find it

Settings, then Profile, then **Recovery Key**. Tap **Show**, then **COPY**. Keep it somewhere private, like a password manager.

## What it brings back

- Your profile, friends, and groups
- Messages that haven’t expired yet
- Your starting device and the devices you earned
- A COPY Club pass

Devices you bought come back through [Restore Purchases](https://getcopy.app/help/restore-purchases) instead.

## If you lose it

We don’t store your key, so there’s no forgot-password option. Without it, a lost phone means starting fresh.
