# Sending and listening

Hold down. Talk. Let go. Up to three minutes.

Hold the button and talk. Let go and it’s sent. A message can run up to three minutes.

## Sending

- Recording starts the moment you touch the button.
- A quick tap cancels, so you won’t send a blip by accident.
- Let go and it sends right away. There’s no preview or redo.
- At three minutes, COPY stops and sends for you.

## Listening

A channel with new messages shows how many, like “2 new.” Tap it to play them, oldest first. With COPY Club, you can [skip ahead or replay](https://getcopy.app/help/when-messages-are-deleted#skip-replay) messages from the last ten minutes.

## What your channel is telling you

- **“Sending…” then “Sent.”** All good.
- **“Queued.”** You’re offline. It sends when you’re back.
- **“Audio busy.”** A call or another app is using audio.
- **“Recording failed.”** The microphone picked up nothing.
- **“Message lost.”** Ask them to send it again.

## Notifications

New messages arrive as “Incoming transmission from” your friend’s name. A muted channel stays quiet but still shows a dot.
