# Your twelve channels

Turn the dial to pick who you’re talking to.

COPY has twelve channels. Each one is a friend or a group. Turn the dial to pick who you’re talking to.

## Reading the dial

A dot on the dial means that channel has something new.

## Move channels around

Tap the settings button in the top right of your COPY device. Then Friends, then **Reorder channels**. Drag to reorder.

Long-press a row and choose **Move off-dial** to free up a spot. Off-dial channels still get messages and notifications. To put one back, long-press it and choose **Move on-dial**.

## Nicknames

With [COPY Club](https://getcopy.app/help/copy-club), you can give a friend a nickname only you see. Long-press their channel and choose **Nickname**. Up to 30 characters.

## Your own name

Settings, then Profile. Up to 32 characters. It’s how your friends see you.
