Talking

Notifications and microphone access

When COPY asks, and how to fix it if you said no.

COPY asks for the microphone the first time you hold to talk, and for notifications when you first add or join a friend. Saying no to notifications never blocks anything.

Check what’s allowed

Settings, then Permissions, shows Microphone and Notifications as Allowed, Not allowed, or Not asked. Tap one to fix it. COPY asks, or takes you to your iPhone’s Settings.

If the microphone is off

Holding to talk shows “Microphone Required.” Tap Open Settings and turn on Microphone for COPY.

If messages arrive quietly

  • A muted channel sends no notifications. Long-press it and choose Unmute.
  • You won’t get a notification for the channel you have open.

Pick a sound

Settings, then Sounds, then Message sound: Pop, Roger, Come In, Base Camp, or Long Distance.

Still stuck

Settings, then Support, then Send Feedback sends us an email.
